For the second day in a row, the card is the Eight of Cups. As I mentioned yesterday, this card indicates that it is time to walk away from any situation that does not serve your highest good. Sometimes the hardest part is not walking away, but the guilt about those who are left behind.  At first, everyone involved may feel the pain of your decision to change. Although it may be hard to believe or accept, if the decision is for your highest good, all parties will grow from it in the end. Really.

Also, a big shout out to those of you like myself who don’t get into the celebration of any particular holiday. Either way, the Empress card is all about nurturing, abundance, and comfort. Setting aside the material abundance that may be on display, take stock of the spiritual  and emotional abundance you possess. As you give to others, also remember to give to yourself. Nurture yourself, be true  to yourself, and love the person you are and are becoming. Be comfortable in your own skin through unconditional self acceptance.

The card for today is  the Devil. The Devil card is associated with the astrological sign of Capricorn. So it’s no wonder that it shows up today, considering we recently began the Saturn in Capricorn transit, today is the winter solstice (which occurs when the Sun is exactly overhead the Tropic of Capricorn), and tomorrow marks the beginning of the Sun in Capricorn.

Capricorn has the reputation of being a take charge sign, an authority figure like a an employer or a parent. And the Devil card speaks of feeling enslaved or oppressed. However, this feeling of being bound and chained is an illusion. You actually have a choice at all times, even though you may not think so.

So if you have any bad habits or addictions, whether it be to drugs, cigarettes, or coffee, it may not be easy but you can break free of these things. A job you hate? A relationship you hold onto even though you are no longer happy in it? Stuck in a rut simply because that’s the way you’ve always been doing things? No one keeps you in those situations except yourself.

So today — on the darkest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere — dive into the darkness and expel your demons.  And on the day that maintains the light the longest in the Southern Hemisphere, expose your demons to the light where they can be exposed and dealt with.

It could apply to anyone who has  seen a gain in finances in any shape or form. Think hard before you spend. Make your money work for you. Then, watch it grow!

Daily Tarot Reading for 12-19-2017: Thoughts on Saturn in Capricorn

Today’s card is the Ten of Wands. The Ten of wands is about overdoing it when it comes to our duties. Hard work is good — but balance is key. Think about why you work so hard. How much of it is because you want to be perfect, liked or loved, or to be seen as someone with money and status? None of these are bad goals to aspire to. But when it gets to the point of exhaustion, then it’s time to rethink how you are going about achieving your goals. Realize when enough is enough and it’s time to stop working for the day. Get help when you need it. Take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor once in a while. Give up perfectionism and the need to please everyone because these particular goals can never be reached. And even so,  you are still lovable and worthy of love.

The Ten of Wands is an interesting card to pull today, which is the day that Saturn begins its transit through the sign of Capricorn. This transit lasts for two and a half years. The energy of Saturn in Capricorn is one of hard work, integrity, responsibility, and seriousness. Some people experience this influence as harsh and unforgiving. But perhaps it is because we often are harsh with ourselves. As you navigate through Saturn in Capricorn, remember to balance your hard work with self love and self care.

Daily Tarot Reading for 12-18-2017: Special New Moon Report

Hello, everyone! In addition to talking about the card I drew, I’m also going to talk a little about today’s new moon and some major astrological events that are happening this week. Although I am not an astrologer, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention these amazing events going on in the sky.

Bur first, today’s card is the Knight of Swords. This is all about new ideas, new beliefs, and the need to communicate these thoughts and beliefs to others. This is a mighty gust of mental energy, so ride like the wind!

Today we have a powerful new moon in Sagittarius during a week of some of the most most incredible astrological transits ever. First, as is the case with every new moon, the sun and the moon are aligned. But today’s new moon also is aligned with the galactic center. Basically, the galactic center is where the the black hole of our Milky Way galaxy is located. Black holes have a tremendously strong gravitational pull — so strong that once something is sucked into it, nothing, not even light, can come out. Some people have speculated that inside a black hole exists a brand new galaxy or universe.

If that weren’t enough, the planet Saturn transits into the sign of Capricorn tomorrow. Saturn is thought to be an agent of karmic destiny and is particularly powerful in its natural home of Capricorn. Saturn hasn’t been in the sign of Capricorn for about 30 years, so this is a big deal. Saturn will be in Capricorn for the next two and a half years, marking an interesting period in our lives.

Also of note, later on this week, we have the Winter Solstice and the Sun changing signs into Capricorn. Wow!

So to sum it up, today’s new moon can spark the beginning of a brand new world. On any other day drawing the Knight of Swords, I might give a warning about being too reckless. But I won’t do that  today! With this Knight of Swords energy, don’t hold back. THINK BIG!
