Be grateful for all that they bring to your relationship and if possible, take the time to let them know how much they mean to you.

And what about the strangers you may see during the course of your busy day — in the bank or grocery store, or while walking down the street? Notice other people’s presence, even though they may or may not make eye contact with you. You don’t have to smile at them or say hello if you don’t want to. The real point of this exercise is to practice awareness instead of allowing large portions of your life to pass by in a blur. Besides, you never know, this simple act may keep you or someone else from feeling isolated.
