On July 3 at 7:39 a.m. eastern time, the full moon in Capricorn will be exact. As always, how to work with this energy involves a number of factors, including your astrological birth chart. For this particular full moon, it is also interesting to consider that Mercury is newly in Cancer, Capricorn’s opposite sign and Saturn, Capricorn’s ruling planet, is currently retrograde in Pisces. Not only that, Neptune—also in Pisces—recently went retrograde, which spices things up quite a bit!

But to keep it simple, let’s focus on the full moon in Capricorn energy on its own.

The 2-week full moon cycle is an ideal time to recognize the progress you’ve made on projects that you have already started and/or to complete projects. It’s also a good time to get rid of ideas and situations that are outdated and not useful to your anymore. Many people take time during the full moon cycle to clean their living space and throw out/donate physical items they no longer need. De-cluttering, when done consciously as devotion, is an excellent spiritual practice. A clean environment helps to clear the mind and soul.

We can look to Capricorn to give us more clues on how to best use the full moon energy. The Capricorn archetype, generally speaking, is associated with hard work, ambition, and a desire to be seen favorably in the public eye. To one degree or another, this cardinal earth aims to move up the ladder professionally, gain social status, and be a leader. Because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in some astrological schools of thought, Capricorn is often seen as being serious-minded. Maturity, wisdom, and integrity all play a part in the Capricorn persona.

Having integrity is vital to the highest expression of the Capricorn archetype. Otherwise, the shadow expression of the Capricorn energy is comparing themselves to others and seeking status for its own sake.

To use the energy of the Capricorn full moon cycle, think about your public image and how you want to show up in the world. If you have ambitions of increasing your social or professional standing, go for your dreams wholeheartedly, even if you see yourself becoming a key, valuable player working under someone else.

As such, get rid of any doubts or fears about being able to achieve success. Worry less about what other people think of you and get more in alignment with your personal motivation. If you are achieving what you set out to achieve, then you are a success.
