The full moon in Capricorn is exact on July 21 at 6:17 a.m. eastern time. This is the second full moon in Capricorn in a row, with the last one occurring on June 21st.
Another thing that makes this full moon special is that at the time of peak fullness, the moon will be at 29° of Capricorn, and Pluto, which is currently retrograde, will be at 0° Aquarius. This is one degree apart. Even though the moon and Pluto will be in different signs, technically they will be conjunct (closely aligned).
Pluto is all about transformation and change, and its influence can be decisive and harsh, frankly speaking. In part, the harshness we experience is a result of our resistance to change.
But in fairness, it’s the Universe’s way of getting us to pay attention to what is not working in our lives that we may have overlooked—or just continue to put up with even though we are not happy with our circumstances.
And by the same token, this Pluto energy is supportive to the full moon symbolism. Full moon cycles are ideal for reviewing your efforts and seeing the benefits of your hard work. It is also a great time to figure out which situations and thought patterns are holding you back from making even more progress, to end those things, or to make significant changes to business as usual.
To work with the energies of the full moon in Capricorn, think about channeling Capricorn traits. Because Capricorn is a strong cardinal sign, be mindful of how much power you exert, especially since the Pluto energy is giving you that extra push. You don’t want to step all over other people’s boundaries or step outside of your own integrity.
As I mentioned last month, you may want to revisit the themes and issues you were dealing with at the June full moon in Capricorn. Be inspired to move forward with your life without some of the baggage that has been weighing you down.
Also, keep in mind that we are now in the Mercury pre-retrograde shadow period as of July 17, with the actual retrograde in Virgo/Leo starting on August 5. Now is definitely a time to make sure that your communication skills are on point, that you pay attention to details, and that you plan ahead.
While all of this sounds very serious, this full moon cycle puts you in control of your experience. At the time of the full moon, the sun will be in Cancer. So practice self-care.
On the next day, July 22, Leo season begins. That will be your time to seriously love what you do! Be optimistic and give your creativity the room to shape the life you are passionate about.
