New Moon In Pisces – How To Work With The Energies

The New moon in Pisces is exact on February 27 at 7:44 p.m. eastern. At 9° Pisces, this new moon is too far away from the north node at 28° Pisces to be considered an eclipse. However, its enormous power will still be felt. Along with the north node, Saturn, Neptune, and Mercury are all in the sign of Pisces, and with the Mercury and Venus retrogrades coming up soon, this strong Pisces energy will be flowing in and out all the way through April of this year.

New moons are symbolic of new beginnings and since this new moon is in the last sign of the zodiac, these new beginnings may look like endings—at least at first. Consider setting your intentions for starting projects that will give you closure, such as finally getting to a task that you have been putting off for a long time, or a task that will clear the way for you to do something completely different.

Pisces is known for being emotional, creative, and imaginative and with all the Pisces energy circulating in the atmosphere, you may be drawn to activities that require these traits. On the shadow side, Pisces is also known for escapism, which can manifest in behaviors such as overeating, substance abuse, and the like. So try for moderation in all things rather than getting lost in activities that keep you from taking care of your responsibilities or that damage your physical and/or mental health.

Another shadow aspect of Pisces is illusion. Since the Pisces energy will be felt on a collective level, this may not be a good time to take everything you hear at face value. What you see may not be what you get. Beware of looking at things with rose-colored glasses. But by the same token, try not to feel like the world is a scary place and that the Universe is out to get you. You are more loved than you realize.

Pisces sometimes feels the need for isolation, which can be helpful sometimes and lonely at other times. If you feel the need, don’t hesitate to reach out to other people—family, friends, loved ones who “get” you. You don’t have to bare your soul if you don’t want to. Just being in the company of other humans can help ground and stabilize you during this dreamy place in time.

Although this lunar cycle does not include an eclipse, the next one will, with the full moon in Virgo. The next two weeks may be a roller coaster ride, but if you band together with like minds and kindred souls, the ride may be more thrilling and less frightening.
