New Moon In Taurus – How To Work With The Energies

The new moon in Taurus is exact on May 7 at 11:22 p.m. eastern time. New moon cycles are great for starting new things and with this new moon in the sign of manifestation, this should be an exciting time indeed!

Not only are the sun and moon in the sign of Taurus, but so is Uranus, Jupiter, and Venus. So, there is a lot of cosmic support for the new moon in Taurus manifestation energy. Uranus is the planet of unpredictability, which in this case can mean some nice surprises coming your way. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune and expansion. Venus in Taurus is in its home sign, and therefore the best of Venus’ traits are on display, such as sensuality, beauty, and material abundance. What’s not to love?

Also, keep in mind that Mercury retrograde is leaving its shadow on May 13, which should make everything run smoother; Mars is currently in its home sign of Aries, which helps boost our motivation to act on opportunities; and Saturn in Pisces is making a supportive alignment with the new moon, which helps us to focus on realizing our dreams.

With all that being said, the ability to manifest during this new moon cycle—and indeed, during the entire month of May—might be much easier than you would have imagined. Tap into your inner Taurus and stay focused on your goal. However, you also may have to get out of your comfort zone and be more flexible if the Uranus influence throws some surprises your way. What you manifest may not look exactly the way you thought it would. It could very well turn out better than you thought! Even so, good surprises can sometimes be unsettling.

Uranus has been in the sign of Taurus since 2018, which has had a big impact on people with Taurus placements, like myself (sun and moon). No doubt we are probably getting better at being more flexible and dealing with changes, even if reluctantly. But if we Tauruses can do it, so can you! Have fun and enjoy the ride.

New Moon/Solar Eclipse In Aries – How To Work With The Energies

The new moon/solar eclipse in Aries is finally here! The new moon will be exact on April 8 at 2:21 p.m. eastern time.

This is a total solar eclipse, which will be visible across a narrow path in North America from Mexico to Canada. Locations in the U.S. that will be in the path of 100% totality are portions of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont New Hampshire, Maine, Tennessee, and Michigan.

However, no matter where you are in the world, we all will feel the energetic influence of this powerful solar eclipse.

New moons are symbolic of new beginnings and as I often say, solar eclipses are new moons on steroids. When it comes to eclipses, people have various ways of working with the energies. For my part, as I mentioned with the lunar eclipse in Libra 2 weeks ago and as I say with every eclipse, eclipses are not the ideal time to push your agenda either way.

Eclipses represent major shifts in energy and there may be changes happening in your life that you didn’t exactly plan for, or else something in your soul calls you to follow through with specific actions. Consider dealing with what you already have on your plate until the conditions are better for moving forward.

When we think of the new moon in Aries, the cardinal sign of new starts, high energy, and bold action, it would seem that all systems are ready to go. But, because this new moon is also a solar eclipse, there may be details you must attend to first—not to mention the emotions that may be stirred up within you.  Also keep in mind that we are right in the middle of a Mercury retrograde, in the sign Aries no less. So, this is not a great time for pushing new beginnings.

But how is this for Divine timing: Mercury retrograde will be over on April 24, the same day as the Full moon in Scorpio! That will be a great opportunity to clean up the mess and get rid of what no longer serves your highest good. Then, the new moon in Taurus will be on May 7 and Mercury retrograde post-shadow period is over on May 13. When we get there, set intentions to manifest to your heart’s desire!

New Moon in Pisces — How To Work With The Energies

The new moon in Pisces is exact on March 10, 4:59 a.m. eastern time. Here in the U.S., that’s right around the time we move our clocks ahead an hour for daylight savings time!

Although new moons are about new beginnings, the Pisces new moon is the last new moon of the astrological year. You now have a chance to jump-start any new projects you want to continue with during the astrological new year, which begins with the new moon in Aries next month. Not only that, the full moon in Libra two weeks from now starts the first eclipse season of 2024. So this is an exciting time indeed.

You may already be experiencing changes in your life related to the upcoming eclipse season. That’s because the effects of an eclipse don’t necessarily start and end on the exact day of the eclipse. Also, we have been influenced by some powerful transits lately, including Pluto’s journey into Aquarius.

Remember that Pisces is a mutable sign, which means that it has changeable qualities. Maybe more so than other mutable signs, Pisces has the softest boundaries, as it straddles the line between death and life (between the dead of winter to the rebirth of spring; between the end of the zodiac and the beginning).

To work with the energies of this Pisces new moon, accept what you have had to let go of in the past few months. Focus on building new structures. Because Saturn is also in Pisces right now, you have extra energetic support to work on your dream house, figuratively speaking. Keep in mind that if there are any new situations that come up around the time of the eclipses, your efforts during this Pisces new moon cycle will be a good foundation.

As Pisces is an ultra-spiritual sign, you may want to focus some of your energy specifically on spiritual matters. One idea is to start a gratitude journal. Begin by writing about all the things that happened in the past astrological year that you are grateful for. Continue to add something everyday from now through Pisces season 2025.

New Moon in Aquarius — How To Work With The Energies

The new moon in Aquarius will be exact on February 9 at 5:58 p.m. eastern time. This new moon is epic because there is so much Aquarius energy in the air. Be prepared for some excitement and intensity!

Along with the sun and the moon in Aquarius, Pluto will also be in Aquarius during this 2-week moon cycle. Pluto in Aquarius is arguably the biggest transit of 2024 because it has the potential to powerfully impact our personal lives and the world at large for many years to come. Pluto is often called the (dwarf) planet of change and transformation. And according to some modern astrologers, Aquarius is co-ruled by Uranus, which is known for innovation and unpredictability. (I discussed Pluto in Aquarius in my last “How to Work with the Energies” article, as well.)

In addition, Mercury, the planet of communication, is in Aquarius right now, and will be there until February 23. Mars, the planet of action, will enter Aquarius on February 13 and will be there until March 22.

New moons are about new beginnings. Considering how Pluto in Aquarius may already be tearing down some structures in your life, you may have some ideas about the direction you want to go in moving forward.

To work with the energies of the new moon in Aquarius, set intentions to think outside the box. Don’t be afraid to try something different, compared to what you would normally do in such situations.

In addition, Aquarius reminds us that we are unique individuals who are part of a greater whole, where each person is entitled to certain rights as human beings. Stand up for your rights and the rights of all. Keep in mind that in the sequence of the zodiac, Aquarius is one step away from dissolving the ego, which we learn more fully from the next sign, Pisces.

New Moon in Capricorn — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo.

The new moon in Capricorn is exact on January 11 at 6:58 a.m. eastern. New moon cycles are great for starting new things, and this one in particular is especially in alignment with that goal!

First of all, it is the first new moon of 2024. It’s in the sign of Capricorn which is a cardinal sign. Cardinal signs are all about leadership and taking the initiative.

Second, Mars is adding strength to this new moon energy. Mars entered Capricorn on January 4 and will be there until February 13. Mars is the planet of action, among other things, and it is exalted (very strong) in Capricorn.

Third, keep in mind that nearly all the planets are moving direct right now. The only planet in retrograde is Uranus, but even Uranus will go direct on January 27!

Take advantage of the powerful energy during this new moon cycle. When you create your new beginnings, think of Capricorn traits. Generally speaking, Capricorn puts a lot of focus on their public image and reputation.

You can apply this focus to any area of your life. How do you want to be seen by others?

Don’t think of this as being vain and egotistical. Instead, think of it as putting your best foot forward and looking good doing it.

Also, keep in mind that Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, which at its best is about self-discipline and integrity. It’s nice to be seen as someone people can trust—and better yet to actually be trustworthy.

Full Moon in Cancer — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo.

The full moon in Cancer is exact on December 26 at 7:33 p.m. eastern. Full moon cycles are perfect for letting go of what no longer serves your highest purpose.

This idea aligns nicely with what a lot of people are thinking right now as we approach the end of the calendar year. You may want to make new year’s resolutions (intentions) to get rid of bad habits and improve your quality of life.

The Cancer is a water sign that is considered to be emotional and associated with home, family, and nurturing—but in a badass way! Although Cancer is often perceived to be maternal, soft, and squishy, but I can’t help but point out that Cancer is a cardinal sign. It assumes an active, leadership role.

Imagine stumbling upon a group of bear cubs: The mother bear sees you as a threat. It will come after you—and not with tears of compassion in its eyes…. The maternal instinct is protective, strong willed, and fierce.

When I think of Cancer, I also think about its association with the Chariot card in Tarot. The forces pulling the vehicle are pointed in opposite directions, and it is up to the driver to rein them in. The driver takes control by using their will-power and determination to get the chariot moving the direction that was intended.

To work with the energies of this Cancer full moon cycle, work on getting rid of situations that you are not aligned with emotionally. This could involve protecting your personal well-being and or that of your household and family.

Also, take into consideration the direction you want to go in for the upcoming new year. What are the obstacles in your way? Use your emotional intelligence and honor the desires of your heart of hearts to achieve your goals. Believe that where there’s a will, there’s a way.

New Moon in Sagittarius — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo.

The new moon in Sagittarius is exact on December 12, 6:32 p.m. eastern time. New moon cycles, which last about 2 weeks, are great for starting new things. This new moon cycle is no exception!

To work with the energies of this particular new moon, think about the traits and characteristics of Sagittarius. One typical Sagittarius trait is the love of learning and a passion for sharing their wisdom. You may want to start a blog or even teach a class about a topic you’re knowledgeable about.

Here’s a pro tip: Teaching can be an excellent way to gain even more knowledge about a subject if you continue to pay attention to “what’s new” in the field.

Travel is another typical interest of Sagittarius. You may want to plan some trips, even if they are relatively short distance.

Sagittarius is also fiercely independent. Whatever your new beginning is, you may want it to be a solo project as opposed to collaborating with others.

An amazing feature of this new moon cycle is that it will include the December solstice on the 21st! For those of us who live in the northern hemisphere, this solstice marks a major turning point. It is the shortest day of our year, but once we get through that long night, the sun “returns” and the days begin to get longer again. Just like the new moon, it is a time for renewal and a fresh start.

But let’s not forget that Mercury retrograde in Capricorn begins on December 13 at 2:09 a.m. eastern—just a few short hours after the new moon perfects!

I may be in the minority with this opinion, but I don’t think that we should let Mercury retrograde burst our bubble for this exciting new moon. Just try to pay attention to details as closely as you can. Communicate clearly with others. Back up data. Double check your travel plans and don’t rush as you travel from point A to point B. You know the deal.

Sagittarius, a mutable sign, represents the heart of an adventurer who knows how to go with the flow. Stay loose and be light-hearted.

New Moon in Scorpio — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo.

The new moon in Scorpio is exact on November 13 at 4:27 a.m. eastern time.

The zodiac sign of Scorpio is often considered to be a deep, dark energy. It is associated with being secretive—not wanting to freely share certain thoughts and feelings. Scorpio is also about constant change and profound transformation.

With this new moon in the sign of Scorpio, we are truly being transformed into a brand new era. Eclipse season is officially over after the full moon in Taurus two weeks ago, and there will be no more eclipses in the Taurus-Scorpio axis until 2031.

New moon cycles are great for starting new things in your life. And with this particular new moon, you may want your new beginnings to be radical! Keep in mind that the ancient ruler of Scorpio is Mars, the planet of aggressive energy, so don’t hesitate to be bold in your actions.

Mars is also “me” centered—that is, it strives to satisfy the ego. Understand that the ego is a good thing—without it, we would never get out of the bed in the morning! The goal is to develop a healthy, balanced ego that is mindful and confident, as opposed to impulsive and motivated by fear. With this new moon in Scorpio, your new beginnings would ideally be geared toward pushing an agenda that benefits your personal goals and desires.

Pluto is the modern ruler of Scorpio, which accounts for Scorpio’s association with transformation at a core level and personal power. Working with this energy, you may want to use your new beginning as an opportunity to transform yourself or an aspect of your life so that it looks completely different than it does now. Change is necessary to level up and evolve.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a discussion of Scorpio without some words about sex and sexuality. Mars is often thought, in part, to govern sexual appetite and desires. Pluto’s associations with hidden things includes sex, which in our society is usually handled in a hush-hush manner.

During this new moon cycle, your new beginning could include fostering body positivity—being comfortable in the skin you’re in. Think of yourself as a sexual being in a more open and honest way. You don’t necessarily have to talk about your sexuality, but you could live your life out loud. Be sexy as a holistic part of your everyday personality.

New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Libra — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo. All rights reserved.

The new moon/solar eclipse in Libra is on October 14. The new moon is exact at 1:55 p.m. eastern time.

This eclipse is an annular, meaning that when the moon is centered exactly over the sun, people in the path of this eclipse see the sun as a “ring of fire” as opposed to being totally blacked out. With this eclipse, the ring of fire will be visible in certain parts of California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico, if the weather is clear. The eclipse process will start at 11:03 a.m. eastern to 4:55 p.m. eastern, based on the first location to see the eclipse to the last.

With the new moon in Libra being a solar eclipse, it is powerful in terms of its metaphysical energy. Eclipses are thought to bring change to our lives. However, these changes rarely come out of the blue. Usually, eclipses steer your life in a different direction than what you thought it would be based on what you already have going on. It’s a continuation of your life, so there’s no need to fear.

Many people like to do manifestation rituals during new moons—and it might seem that harnessing the energy of the solar eclipse would give your spiritual workings an extra boost. However, I would caution against trying to actively manifest during the exact time of the new moon/solar eclipse. It may be best to experience how you feel in the moment and observe any developments that occur as a result of the eclipse energy. A few days after the eclipse, once the energies are more established, you will have a better idea of how you want to proceed.

Something to think about with this particular new moon/solar eclipse are the aspects and qualities of Libra. Libra, in part, is a sign that involves relationships. It is about trying to find balance, interpersonal harmony, and compromise. The shadow aspect of Libra is to compromise with others to the point that you lose yourself in the process and possibly act against your own best interests.

When the time is right for starting new projects, manifestation, and working with the new moon energies, try to strike a true balance between having harmonious relationships and satisfying your own desires. After all, Venus is the ruling planet of Libra, and Venus, in part, is about seeking comfort and beauty for your own enjoyment. With a little effort, it is possible to be true to your own needs and still be respectful of others. In cases where an agreement can’t be reached, it’s okay to walk away from the deal in order to serve your highest good.

Remember, having a disagreement doesn’t mean that you will be disliked, although being disliked by someone is not the worst thing in the world. Betraying yourself, however, is high on the list of worst things.

New Moon in Virgo — How To Work With The Energies

Created by Adriene Joyce (Ms. Joyce Tarot) with Dream by Wombo. All rights reserved.

This new moon in Virgo has some special sauce on it! It is exact tonight, September 14 at 9:40 p.m. eastern time. The special sauce is that Mercury retrograde in Virgo ends tomorrow, September 15 at 1:21 p.m. eastern. New moons are about new beginnings and with Mercury retrograde out of the way, we can feel freer to move forward with our plans without worrying too much about frustrating delays. Keep in mind that the Mercury post-retrograde shadow period ends on September 29, so continue to stay alert and pay attention to details.

The good news is that paying attention to detail is in line with the practical, earth sign Virgo archetype. Virgo is also a mutable sign, which means that it has the flexibility to deal with changes and come up with a new, logical course of action.

To work with the energy of the Virgo new moon, reevaluate how you function on a day-to-day basis. Do you give yourself enough time to do all that you want to get done? Go back to the drawing board and establish new daily routines and schedules if you think it would be more efficient and better suited to your needs.

Virgo is also about taking care of the physical body and doing things to maintain your health. This new moon cycle would be a good time to change your eating habits for the better, improve your sleep schedule, and/or to start a new exercise program. If you haven’t been to the doctor lately just for a routine checkup, you may want to consider it.

Another characteristic attributed to Virgo is being of service to others, which can manifest in so many ways. If there are situations in your life that call for you to help someone personally, as part of your job, or as a volunteer, the Universal vibes are supportive of that.

This 2-week new moon cycle will be a great time to clean up any problems that may have cropped up during the past few weeks and to start fresh with any new ideas that you have been putting off because of the Mercury retrograde. Virgo, which is ruled by Mercury, is mentally sharp. Tap into that energy. Put your thinking cap on and create at will!
