Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse In Virgo – How To Work With The Energies

The full moon in Virgo is exact on March 14 at 2:54 a.m. eastern time. It is a total lunar eclipse with the moon at 23° Virgo conjunct the south node at 27° Virgo.

Anyone who can see the night sky will be able to view the eclipse to some degree or another if the weather conditions are favorable. Using eastern times, the earth’s shadow will begin to cover the moon’s edge on March 13 at 11:57 p.m., reach maximum coverage on March 14 at 2:58 a.m., and end at 6:00 a.m.

Full moons are about ending cycles and reaping the rewards of all the hard work you have been putting in. With lunar eclipses, endings and rewards may manifest for you in ways you hadn’t expected, leading you in new directions.

The spiritual goal of eclipses is for you to be open to change, even though it may be difficult. Eclipse energy can help you get unstuck from patterns that no longer serve you.

There is always debate about whether to perform rituals with the intention to manifest something specific. Always go with your own wisdom and experience. My viewpoint is that you should go with the flow instead of trying to push your own agenda. The concern is that you may frustrate yourself, not get the results you’re looking for, or prolong the process.

This is not to say that you shouldn’t do anything at all during eclipse season! Fully engage in the twists and turns that life brings to you and continue to work toward your goals. Now is the time to pay attention, not to cover your eyes.

How this full moon and eclipse season will affect you specifically depends on where it sits within your astrological birth chart. Generally, there may be a focus on Virgo topics, including job, health, and daily routines. Other topics include being a caretaker, volunteering, or otherwise being of service to others.

As Virgo is in the south node, it is especially important for the collective to avoid Virgo’s shadow aspects, such as being overly critical of yourself and others, and being prone to worry and anxiety.

By the way, Mercury retrograde in Aries begins on March 15 at 2:46 a.m. eastern—one day after the full moon! Patience, understanding, and clear communication will be key. Mercury being the planetary ruler of Virgo may work to our advantage. Tapping into the Virgo traits of being logical and detail-oriented will also help. In addition, Virgo—a mutable sign—is a problem solver and is ready to adapt to change when the situation calls for it.

In two weeks, we will experience the new moon/solar eclipse in Aries. Eclipse season often feels surreal. Try to remain grounded, live in the moment, and deal with issues as they arise—if they arise. It’s going to be okay.
