Part of that may include going to a job or otherwise earning money. The shadow aspect of this concept reminds me of the overworked breadwinner who carries the weight of people depending on them.

At its worst, we find someone who is so exhausted physically and mentally that earning money takes priority over other needs, like spending quality time with people and connecting with them on a soul level. Their loved ones may have to get emotional support from friends, other family members, babysitters, or technology.

And not only do relationships with others suffer. It may be hard for the super human provider to do something for themselves to relieve the pressures of dealing with the outside world.

So how to keep the balance between surviving and thriving without steeling your heart? Personal priorities have to change and maybe societal expectations have to change. Is that possible? Comments are welcome.
