But sometimes it’s hard to let go, especially if you have been carrying your responsibilities for a long time. Being burdened may be so much a part of your routine that you can’t see yourself doing anything else at this point. You may be afraid that if you don’t do it, the world will fall apart. You may feel as if you are the only one who will get the job done right.
When you are stressed to the point of exhaustion due to taking care of business for yourself or others, consider these thoughts:
- You’ve done all you can do. It’s time to move on to the next phase.
- Let go of perfectionism.
- Allow others to do their fair share instead of trying to do everything yourself. Getting help is not a weakness.
- Your way is not the only way. Other people have their unique talents, ideas, and skills, too.
- Your best is good enough.
