Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Virgo — How To Work With The Energies

The full moon in Virgo is exact on March 3 at 6:38 a.m. eastern. It is a total lunar eclipse, a blood moon, meaning the moon will appear red in color due to the earth blocking the sunlight. In locations where the lunar eclipse is visible, the eclipse begins at 3:44 a.m., reaches maximum coverage at 6:33 a.m., and ends at 9:23 a.m., all eastern times. Places where the eclipse will be visible include Asia, Australia, North America, South America, and parts of Europe.

When you think about what full moons are all about and what Virgo is all about, this full moon/will be about letting go of what no longer serves your highest good. Because it is a lunar eclipse, you probably won’t have to guess what needs to change because your situation is definitely heading in a certain direction. In the sign of Virgo, it may have to do with your daily routines, job, health, pets, or volunteer service that you provide for others. Of course, it will depend on the details of your birth chart. But most importantly, it’s all a matter of you being present and living your life in the moment.

As far as I’m concerned, this full moon marks the end of the current eclipse season. Other people who study astrology will consider eclipse season to end two weeks from now at the next new moon. Either way, you likely already know what this astrological transit means to you. Some of you may have experienced major life changes. For some of you, the changes have not been as intense. Keep in mind that eclipses can greatly impact world events, as well.

We are still wading through Mercury retrograde in Pisces. Although it has its challenges, this transit may be helpful in that it has us thinking about our emotions and finding new ways to manage them in these trying times.

Think about the Hermit card in tarot, which is associated with the zodiac sign of Virgo. You are encouraged to spend some quiet time alone during this full moon cycle to ponder your situation. If scheduling and circumstances don’t allow you to be alone for any significant period of time, hang back and be a little more quiet than usual. If other people call you out for being introverted, ask them to understand that you’re in a mood and it’s not personal.

When all is said and done, you may come to important realizations about yourself—and maybe even become an example to others of what wisdom, efficiency, and self-composure look like.
